Robin Hood Marathon

This year to raise money for my chosen charities, Furry Friends Animal Rescue, All Dogs Matter, SOS Animals UK, and Wetnose Animal Aid, I ran the Nottingham Half-Marathon on Sunday 11th Spetember 2011, in 2 Hours, 25 mins and 23 secs!

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who sponsored me and I will be posting the amount raised in the coming days, once I've had chance to collect all the donations.

Fund Raising for Animal Rescue Centres

Welcome to Penny's Fundraising. My name is Ellen Stevens and this is my dog, Penny. Together We are raising much needed funds for my favourite animal charities, Furry Friends Animal Rescue, All Dogs Matter, SOS Animals UK, Valgrays Border Collie Rescue, NWSPCA Ballina, and Wetnose Animal Aid.

Penny's Story

Penny caught her leg in a snare whilst she was pregnant and had it round herleg for weeks before she was found and had it removed. Penny went on togive birth but sadly only one of her five puppies survived.

Penny was lucky to be saved by a lady who found her andcalled the NWSPA in Ireland, who amputated her leg whichby this time had developed gangrene.

She was then sent to Furry Friends Animal Rescue in Surrey, where thevery hard working Emma Semple nursed Penny and her baby back to health.

I gave Penny her forever home, she is now happywith my other 3 border collies, Sweep, Teddy and Lottie.

Donations Welcome

Because of the drop in donations, many Animal Centres are really struggling and the Wetnose Awards in London on 4th March 2011, at which Penny won "Best Rescue Story Of The Year" highlighted this awful situation many animal rescue centres are now facing. This is what drove me on to wanting to help in my own personal way by running.

Please help me raise money for Furry Friends Animal Rescue, All Dogs Matter, SOS Animals UK, Valgrays Border Collie Rescue, NWSPCA Ballina and Wetnose Animal Aid,so that these hard working people can keep up their marvellous work. More often than notthey have huge debts due to costly Veterinary Practices, and they struggle to keep going. All monies donated to me will go to these Organisations.
